Team/Troop 448 Service Project - VFW Post 4443

Posted on Apr 17 2014 - 9:55pm
Scouts can earn service hours by assisting the VFW 4443 post by raking leaves on their complex on Sunday, April 27th between 3:00pm until 5:00pm. This is a great way to thank our vets for their years of service.

Relay for Life

Posted on Apr 13 2014 - 10:31pm

Help in the fight against cancer!  As in years past, we have been asked to support the Relay for Life . This year it will be a little different. Instead of going all night long, we have been asked to be there from 3pm to midnight. The event is on Saturday, April 26 at the Texas School for the Deaf.   They would love to have some scouts come out from around 3-midnight to help with parking, unloading and managing trash if possible.  please sign up as soon as you can for this event.

If your dreams and plans do not scare you....they are not big enough! You were not put here to be average. You were put here to shine and be a servant!
What is holding you back?

District Adventure Weekend - Red Dawn

Posted on Mar 16 2014 - 9:40am

Be Prepared for the Red Dawn!

This year the theme of the Thunderbird District Adventure Weekend will be Red Dawn (yes, the old ’80’s movie starring Patrick Swayze, not the recent remake). Troops from around the District will be setting up areas to teach different survival skills. We will be focusing on shelter building ( we can totally rock that). As our older Scouts teach the skills, our young guys will go from station to station learning and competing with other Troops. In the after noon there will be big group games and more competition. The Saturday night campfire, aside from being tons of fun, will feature the Order of the Arrow call out ceremony. For boys that were elected in the February election (it’s a secret) this will be the first opportunity to get called out.
