Welcome to the Troop 448 Website.  We are a 2012 Journey to Excellence GOLD UNIT sponsored by the Knights of Columbus #8156 of St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church.  We meet at the State Firemen's & Fire Marshals' Association of Texas (SFFMA) at 707 W FM 1626, Austin, Texas on the second, fourth and fifth Mondays of each month at 7 p.m. SFFMA is next to the new Manchaca Fire Station. 

"Through the Scout Oath and Law, Troop 448 will be a fun, respectful unit led by Eagle-bound scouts, and will serve the community in an organized and effective manner"

  • First week of month - Patrol Leaders Council/Committee & Parents Meeting
  • Second Monday - Troop meeting
  • Third Monday - Patrols at various locations, days and times
  • Fourth Monday - Troop meeting
  • Fifth Monday - Troop meeting

Citizenship in the community

If you missed the last candidate forum for the Citizenship in the Community merit badge Requirement 3 and 4 you have another chance the next candidate forum is 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 11 at the  Shady Hollow Community Center. 3303 Doe Run 78748.  The first hour is for the Commissioner’s race, featuring Republicans Gerald Daugherty and Jason Nassour plus Democrat David Holmes. It is followed by the Constable candidates, Democrats A.J. Johnson and Stacy Suits.

This is a great opportunity for the boys who need to complete their Citizenship in the Community to cover number 3 and 4.  Ask them to come in their Class A uniform to have a question written down to  ask the candidates and bring their merit badge blue card or workbook,  Their parents are welcome and encouraged to attend.

Shooting Campout Rescheduled

Sometimes with all the planning things still don't work out.

Due to a scheduling conflict the ranges at Lost Pines will not be avaialble to us for the entire day on 2/20/16. Instead of having to rush Scouts through the range it has been decided to reschedule the Shooting Campout to November.
